a wonderland of the hard boiled variety

Thursday was a collision of so many parts of my world. I attended Breeyn McCarney's show at Courthouse with my FDCC/LGFW Social Media photographer Nikki Ormerod in tow. I was very pleasantly surprised - with the guests, the show, and the designer herself!

The first collision happened when I started recognizing people's twitter aliases. It was very much like a live feed of characters going through my head, and everyone (that I met) was rather charming in real life.

The show itself was beautifully done. Whimsical yet progressive, feminine yet bold - I was so in love with the mixed textures, the muted yet strong colours, and the overall youthful charm that came across in every piece.

I look forward to Breeyn's progress as a designer because not only is she a wonderful talent, she is a completely lovely person. Hopefully one day we can see her name on the LG Fashion Week Beauty by L'Oréal Calendar!

ps. doesn't the dress look fabulous IRL?! Photo courtesy of Nikki Ormerod.

Special thanks to Gail McInnes - she's a friggin rockstar and we're very appreciative for the invite!

The textures were my favorite - the fur and leather so unexpected. It's a feminine collection with the right amount of edge. Someone has to buy me that crazy white sweater!
